Day by day
Arrive in Accra, Ghana, clear airport formalities and transfer to your hotel.
Day 1 · Arrival — Akwaaba
Arrive in Accra, Ghana, clear airport formalities and transfer to your hotel.
Day 2 · Jamestown & local festival culture
Explore Jamestown's architecture, a blend of European and Ghanaian influences, and take in Accra's festival scene, which celebrates the city's diverse culture through fashion, art and live music.
Day 3 · Accra city tour & art galleries
Visit the W.E.B. Du Bois Centre, Independence Square and Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, then one of Accra's most renowned art venues, before an evening at a live concert.
Day 4 · Elmina & Cape Coast Castle
Visit Cape Coast Castle, built by the Swedes in 1653, and Elmina Castle, built by the Portuguese in 1482.
Day 5 · Kakum, cooking class & tie-dye
Cross Kakum National Park's canopy walkway — seven bridges spanning 330 metres, 100 feet above the forest floor — then join a batik and West African cooking class.
Day 6 · Elmina, Assin Manso & Kumasi
Visit Donkor Nsuo, the former Slave River at Assin Manso, en route to Kumasi.
Day 7 · Kumasi city tour & craft villages
Explore the Manhyia Palace Museum, then the craft villages of Ntonso and Bonwire for Adinkra cloth stamping and Kente weaving.
Day 8 · Return to Accra
Travel back to Accra, with the rest of the day at leisure.
Day 9 · Naming ceremony
Take part in a traditional naming ceremony in a village on the Volta River, where you'll be given a Ghanaian name.
Day 10 · Chale Wote Street Art Festival
Experience the Chale Wote Street Art Festival, an alternative platform bringing art, music, design, dance and performance into the streets, with more than 200 artists taking part each year.
